Broadway Musical Thoughts
I just had a conversation with my mom about the fact that Joss Whedon should bring his Musical episode of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’: “Once More, With Feeling” to the stage.
However, I expressed my concern about them casting someone as Willow Rosenberg. I really liked that she wasn’t a very ‘accomplished’ singer, and I would hope they’d let that alone. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t want them to cast like… Daphne Rubin Vega circa RENT as Mimi Marquez (ouch). But I don’t want Idina Menzel, you know?
And yes, I know that Daphne Rubin Vega “created” that voice for the character of Mimi, because she wanted to show she was weakened by being a drug addict and having AIDS, but I can’t really listen to her as Mimi. Personal preference. :)
